BUILDING TRUSTKensington Window's concept of building trust starts with the basics - produce the highest quality products in the most efficient manner and consistently deliver performance unmatched in the industry. Following this plan, Kensington has continued its 25-year legacy as the supplier of choice to many window professionals throughout the United States.
Founded in 1971, Kensington produced its first aluminum windows in a small factory in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Anticipating an industry demand for new, modern, energy efficient, and maintenance free materials, the company shifted its focus to vinyl later in the decade. The 1980's brought about a growing acceptance of vinyl building materials in many residential areas of the country and Kensington continued to develop revolutionary products to meet the demand. Through growth, expansion, and reinvestment in new technologies, today Kensington is one of the premiere window manufacturers in the country. In fact, combined with its sister companies, Kensington is one of the top ten vinyl window producers in the U.S. and one of the top ten producers of vinyl building materials.
Modern Manufacturing Means Quality:
All of Kensington’s windows are produced with the latest window manufacturing techniques.
Four Point Welding Technology:
- Frames and sashes are air and water tight for improved weathering and insulation.
- Every window is square and true.
- Each corner is physically stronger because there are no screws or fasteners that can come loose over time.
- Each corner is milled smooth to provide a clean uninterrupted appearance.
Computer Controlled Glass Assembly:
- Each insulated glass unit is sealed tight to withstand any weather and climate.
- Every piece of glass is robotically dimensioned to fit your custom sized window exactly.
- Dual seals around triple layer glass units provide a secondary seal around the glass.
Computer Controlled Routing Systems:
- Positions tilt latches, locks and keeper, and night latches in exact locations.
- Optimal durability and consistency in every window.
- Clean and accurate mounting of each component is guaranteed.
Quality Control Checks:
At every phase of manufacturing strict quality control checks are implemented. The "we'll catch it at the end of the line" mentality doesn't exist at Kensington. Every operation and every component is subjected to strict tolerances and should any part of the process fall outside those tolerances, adjustments are made immediately.

SELECTING THE RIGHT GLASS FOR YOUR HOME... FORMULA A
The glass system in any window greatly affects its overall energy performance. Since more than 80% of a window is made of glass, choosing a package developed for your particular climate is crucial to the energy benefits you receive. Northern climates require a glass system that traps interior heat inside a home during the cold winter months. Improved comfort and lower energy consumption is greatly dependent on the insulating properties of your windows... and more importantly, the types of glass used in those windows.
Two Panes of Glass: One clear and one specifically oriented pane of Solarban® 60 solar control Low-E glass. Solarban® 60’s winter nighttime insulating value is 50% better than standard clear insulated glass, reducing furnace heat loss and energy costs. It also reduces fabric-fading UV energy 72% more effectively than standard clear glass.
Argon: The argon-filled air space provides superior insulation against heat transfer to or from the outside. Argon is a natural, odorless and harmless element that provides better insulation than air when used in high concentration.
Intercept® Warm Edge Spacer System: With its proven track record of longevity and performance, this energy-efficient system provides a thermal barrier between the glass panes and a superior seal against gas leakage.
Here's how it works:

KENSINGTON NATURAL FOAM
Improving Thermal Performance... Naturally!
Low-E glass helps, so does gas filling. But they aren't enough to keep out the cold if the frame that holds them isn't properly insulated. Kensington Natural Foam is a polyurethane foam that is injected into the hollow areas of a window frame to increase the frame's R-value and your window's overall performance, naturally. Kensington Natural Foam is CFC-free and does not deplete the ozone layer or contribute to global warming, which makes it an environmentally-friendly addition to your home.
This is the same type of foam used for years in refrigerator doors, coolers and thermoses to keep your food cold or your drinks hot. Entry door manufacturers also use foam to provide maximum energy efficiency and sound control for your front door. So, chances are, you are already benefitting from the use of foam in many ways. Why not let it help your windows, too?
HOMEOWNERS... Kensington Natural Foam is included with the Kingston Window at no extra charge. Why would you settle for less?

SELECTING THE RIGHT GLASS FOR YOUR HOME... SOLARGATE9
The glass system in any window greatly affects its overall energy performance. Since more than 80% of a window is made of glass, choosing a package developed for your particular climate is crucial to the energy benefits you receive. Improved comfort and lower energy consumption is greatly dependent on the insulating properties of your windows... and more importantly, the types of glass used in those windows.
Two Panes of Double-Strength Glass: One clear and one specifically oriented pane of Solarban® 60 solar control Low-E glass. Solarban® 60 is one of the best performing Low-E glazing products on the market. A single sheet of Solarban 60® doubles the night-time insulating value of standard insulating glass. This means a homeowner can reduce heat loss and reduce energy consumption while reducing the harmful effects of UV radiation.
Twin Air Spaces Filled With Krypton: Heat Mirror SC75 film separates the internal air space into two distinctive chambers, each one sealed tight to provide two layers of insulating power. Each of these chambers is filled with Krypton, one of the most powerful insulating elements available. Inert, natural and harmless, Krypton greatly improves the insulating power of the overall unit.
Twin Polymer Bridged Steel Spacers: Insulating polymer bridges block thermal transfer around the glass perimeter in this superior spacer system. These "thermal breaks" surround steel spacers that ensure superb support of all glazing components, even in the toughest climates.
Dual Sealant System: Polyisobutylene (PIB) and polyurethane provide a superior preventative barrier around the glazing perimeter to drastically reduce the risk of seal failure over time.
